Behind the scenes:
The story of Rumpelstiltskin always ends with his name being called out— breaking the curse and saving the family. In a choose-your-own-adventure game, however, this would be hilariously easy as everyone already knows his name. To get around this, I created a story and system that would change Rumpelstiltskin's name to another cultural version of himself from around the world, algorithmically tied to the name the player gives themself.
